My Understanding Of, and Experience With, Far Infrared Saunas

Saran Wrap Weight Loss My Understanding Of, and Experience With, Far Infrared Saunas.

A few years ago I became interested in Far Infrared Technology and purchased a Far Infrared Sauna. I was intrigued by the seemingly unbelievable and numerous health benefiting claims attributed to it.

I had been introduced to this technology about 10 years before by a friend of mine who pursued the practice of Acupuncture while I pursued my interest and passion for Myo-fascial Release work. He had learned about and purchased a portable Far Infrared Light, which he learned about in China while he was there during an apprenticeship/internship for Acupuncture. At the time, I could tell he was excited about the use and benefits of this technology, but alas, I was skeptical and considered it just one more of the hyped myriad health-related tools making their appearance on the healing scene. *I am a skeptic when it comes to all the Health and Fitness Tools and Gizmos which fill the infomercials and magazine ads. My bottom-line rule is to "Judge only by Results".

When I began reading my way through the thousands of pages available on the research and results attributed to Far Infrared Technology I realized that this was something I wanted to have a direct experience of myself. And by the way, this is the method I apply to any form of Self-Maintenance Tools I attempt to share and make available to other conscious Health Seekers.

So I made a fairly expensive purchase and bought a Far Infrared Sauna, assembled it in my master bedroom, and began using it on a daily basis.

I've had loads of personal experience with regular saunas, in health clubs and in homes of wealthy friends, over the years. And though I loved them, the obvious downside to them was that as my body heated up and began the sweating detoxification process, the air inside them became so hard to breathe because it had become super-heated, and therefore almost impossible to inhale. If you've had any experience with regular saunas, which rely solely on convection (air currents), and conduction (direct contact of hot air on the skin), then you'll understand what I'm talking about. If you've not had any experience with saunas then you can get the idea by turning your oven up to high, opening the door to it, sitting in front of it, and trying to breathe. This is the kind of heat utilized by a "regular" sauna.

What is this Far Infrared Heat?

The heat produced by a Far Infrared Sauna is a completely different kind of heat: Radiant Heat. Radiant Heat is a form of energy that heats objects directly through a process called conversion, which heats an object without having to heat the air in between it and the heat source. Radiant Heat is also called Infrared Energy. The sun is the principal source of Radiant Energy that we experience daily.

Infrared saunas use infrared radiant energy to directly penetrate the body's tissues to a depth of over one and a half inches. Its energy output is tuned to correspond so closely to the body's own radiant energy that our bodies absorb more than 90% of the infrared waves that reach our skin.

The benefit of this technology is that the air you get to breathe in the sauna is 50 to 100 degrees cooler than in a conventional sauna that relies on indirect means of heat. In other words, instead of having to endure heat in the 180+degree range, in the infrared sauna your body will heat up and begin to profusely sweat between 95 degrees and 115 degrees Fahrenheit.

Another benefit for Far Infrared Saunas is that the heat-up time for an old-fashioned hot-air sauna is between 30 and 60 minutes, while the heat-up time required for a Far Infrared Sauna is around 10 to 15 minutes. This makes them much more practical in terms of user-friendliness time constraints, as well as meaning significantly lower operating costs. Consistent and convenient daily home use is therefore much more likely with an Infrared Sauna.

*Here is a partial list of the dis-ease conditions of the physical body positively affected by Far Infrared Heat Therapy; the healing qualities of Far Infrared Heat are numerous and far-reaching: detoxification cellulite removal sunburn antidote improved skin removal of clogged pores and blackheads acne eczema and psoriases dandruff muscle spasms arthritis joint stiffness low back pain muscle tension cold hands and feet high blood pressure cancer asthma weight loss lowered cholesterol fibromyalgia reduced stress and fatigue chronic fatigue syndrome multiple chemical sensitivity

My specific interest in Far Infrared Heat

As you'll note, there are an amazing number of "disease ailments" which have been documented to be positively affected by Far Infrared Sauna use. Although I believe all of this research and documentation to be true, I've discovered something very interesting about Far Infrared Heat that interests me more than all the others, because it specifically applies to my chosen field of expertise, the Myofascial Web.

Since 1984 I have, as my job of choice, practiced a form of hands-on bodywork exclusively dedicated to the reorganization and rejuvenation of the Myofascial Web. The Myofascial Web consists of the physiological structure of "Fascia" throughout the body. In my extensive experience, this Fascia is essentially responsible for all pain in the soft tissue, and the Structural Misalignment of the body, meaning altered and diminished Posture, Flexibility, and Functional Movement.

OK, so what is Fascia?

Anatomy: Fascia; A sheet or band of fibrous connective tissue enveloping, separating, or binding together muscles, organs, and other soft structures of the body; a fibrous tissue network located between the skin and the underlying structure of muscle and bone. Fascia is composed of two layers, a superficial layer and a deep layer. Superficial fascia is attached to the skin and is composed of connective tissue containing varying quantities of fat. It is especially dense in the scalp , the back of the neck, and the palms of the hands, where it serves to anchor the skin firmly to underlying tissues. In other areas of the body it is loose and the skin may be moved freely back and forth. Deep fascia underlies the superficial layers, to which it is loosely joined by fibrous strands. It is thin but strong and densely packed, and serves to cover the muscles and to partition them into groups.

If you've ever noticed on a piece of raw chicken the thin, clear, saran wrap-like film that you could peel off, then you have handled fascia. This would be the superficial fascia that surrounds the entire muscle group.

*Fascia in fact surrounds not only every muscle group, but every muscle, every muscle fiber, and every muscle cell. Imagine a string hammock of fascia inside of every muscle, like a 3-dimensional fishnet stocking, running from one end of the muscle to the other; again, surrounding every muscle fiber and every muscle cell, making it truly the most important and insidious structure in the physical body, having purpose and ramifications unimagined by allopathic western medicine. Like the hammock, the fascial exits the muscle by merging all the net together into a woven, thick, dense cord (that you would hook to a tree or a wall), and that structure is called a tendon (which is pure fascia). A tendon attaches a muscle to a bone.

Another example of fascia is a ligament, which also is pure fascia, and it attaches bone to bone.

The Myofascial Web and Physical Therapy

Now the reason that massage and chiropractic have such short-lasting results is because neither modality addresses the Myofascial Web in any way which would lead to lasting results. Massage manually flushes out the muscle, which is of course still a positive thing to have happen, but it does not affect the Myofascial Web, which is what is traumatizing the muscle and causing the pain its in. Hence, its short term results.

Chiropractic pushes and shoves the bones around, and it's definitely the case that the bones are in the wrong place, but it does not address the Myofascial Web, and the Myofascial Web is what is holding and pulling the bones out of place. Hence again, the short term results of this modality, and the reason that long term chiropractic care has devolved into making the exact same adjustments for the exact same structural problems, over and over again, ad infinitum.

The results of these kinds of treatment are temporary, requiring an indefinite number of treatments, for the same problem, the reason being that they address the symptoms of the problem, and not the cause: which is in virtually all cases, a compromised and traumatized Myofascial Web.

The therapy called Rolfing®, which you may have heard of, or even experienced, basically consists of stretching, ripping, and tearing the Myofascial Web. This is why the first thing that comes to anyone's mind when Rolfing® comes up is usually that it's an intrusive "healing" modality characterized by Pain. This is because the concept of the Myofascial Web is the basis of the work, but it is addressed in such a way as to ultimately cause more trauma to an already traumatized body. In my concept of BodyWork and Healing, this is contra-productive.

Ida Rolf, bless her heart and mind, who was a pioneer in the Health field, put the Myofascial Web on the map, by her intuitive and experiential discoveries. She also intuited the understanding that a proper understanding and treatment of the Myofascial Web would result in hastening a positive Evolution of the Human Being. My premise is that she did not live long enough to continue her research to the obvious conclusion that the Myofascial Web could be melted, instead of stretched, ripped, or torn.

I fortunately, after having learned and become proficient in the Rolfing® technique (and taught it for 3 years in the school I graduated from), had the good fortune to meet, and apprentice with, an extraordinarily gifted and intuitive healer from India named Usha. She untaught me, and then taught me, over a period of 8 years or so, how to kindly and lovingly address the Myofascial Web, by melting it with the heat and pressure of my hands, and directing the Release and Realignment with my intuition and will.

What this all means regarding Far Infrared Saunas

The Myofascial Web is 100% positively affected by Far Infrared Heat. Studies have been done and documented about how stretching performed in Far Infrared Heat is more effective in relation to muscle length attained, as well as how long the stretching done lasts. I haven't read anything regarding just why this phenomenon is so, but through my own experimentation and understanding of the Myofascial Web I've come to a few conclusions I feel are easily proven.

I've come to these conclusions while using a Far Infrared Sauna, and through the process of using a Far Infrared portable heat lamp for my hands-on Structural Release BodyWork sessions, on myself and others.

While before I had to rely on the heat and pressure of my hands to melt the Myofascial Web, working in a Far Infrared Sauna, or using a directed Far Infrared Heat Lamp, has sped the process up exponentially. The hard, dense Fascia throughout the muscle tissue, especially around the joints of the body, melts like butter in the sauna or in front of an infrared space heater. When subjected to the enveloping rays in the Far Infrared Sauna, or the directed rays of my Far Infrared Heat Lamp, the hardened muscle tissue (fascia), the tendons, and the cartilage (also pure fascia) in and around the joints changes from a solid to almost a liquid, much the same as ice turns from a solid to a liquid when subjected to a heat source.

As this phenomenon takes place, muscles and tendons lengthen and the cartilage softens and expands, decompressing joints, resulting in a positive and permanent rearrangement of the Structural Body.

What this Information means to you as a potential Far Infrared Sauna Owner

What this exciting information I've provided you with means to you if you own one of these amazing Self-Maintenance Tools, is that any stretching or self-work you do on yourself while in your Far Infrared Sauna will be so exponentially different from anything you've ever done in the past it will beggar description.

If you've heard of Bikram Yoga then you know that there are entire modalities out there which have already recognized the importance and effectiveness of heat while stretching or performing Yoga. Again, as you can find in thousands of web pages on the internet, Indirect Heat, the kind used to heat rooms like the kind used for Bikram Yoga, is an outdated, uncomfortable, and inefficient heat source for Healing and for positively affecting the Myofascial Web, which specifically pertains to the Hatha Yogic endeavor.

I've gotten results, through my hands-on bodywork, using Far Infrared Heat, that have blown my mind and made me want to begin saving money to purchase a custom-designed Far Infrared Sauna in which I can do all of my Structural Realignment Sessions, as well as something that I can do my own Structural Maintenance in...

Using Self-Maintenance Tools with Far Infrared Heat

Of course you can just sit in your Far Infrared Sauna and experience all of the myriad positive physiological health benefits listed above, and more found elsewhere if you do further research about Far Infrared Heat.

You can also take your experience with Far Infrared Heat to the next level by working on yourself while being saturated with Far Infrared Heat. The main way this can be done is by using any of the movements from the flexibility system I've developed.

I can guarantee you that any righteous flexibility work done while under the rays of Far Infrared Heat will be exponentially more productive and effective than anything you've ever experienced. Remember, a whole new modality of Flexibility work (Bikram Yoga) has sprung up and spread like wildfire using "hot air", in super-heated workout rooms, to enhance the Hatha Yoga experience. As explained elsewhere in this treatise, the much more positive physiological effects gained from the use of Far Infrared technology as a heat source renders the use of "hot air" obsolete, especially in the context of Flexibility and Physical Fitness.

Research has also shown that any Flexibility work done just after a Far Infrared Sauna session produces much better (document-able) results than Flexibility work done without the use of Far Infrared Heat. This is because of the way that Far Infrared Heat affects the Myofascial Web, which has everything to do with how a muscle responds to physical manipulation; including stretching/Release, and hands-on Release work.

Conclusion

So at the end of this treatise, I implore you to find out everything you can about Therapy and how it can positively impact and affect your Health and Well-Being.

I hope I've shown you, or at least piqued your interest about this incredible technology, which I've found to be one of the most amazing and effective passive technologies available to the Sincere Health-Seeker.

How To Lose Back Fat - The Skinny Asian Way

First, there are a few things I want to warn you against doing no matter how desperate you are to lose weight. Things like wrapping up your mid-section in plastic saran wrap... or taking double-doses of diet pills that are sold at a local store to try and pull water out of your body to reduce puffiness and bloating.

These things are NOT going to give you the answer to the question of how to lose back fat.

Instead focus on the fundamentals to lose back fat, which actually help your body fight off the effects of aging, disease, and even extend your life several years while still getting a great waistline with no muffin-top!

And while you're not going to learn ALL of the ways Asian women know how to lose back fat from just a short article online, you CAN pick up some tips that will allow you to get started on the road to a lean, defined back:

1. Add natural high-fiber into your diet the RIGHT way - One of the best sources of natural fiber isn't going to be found on a store shelf as powder in a can. Instead nature provides the best high-fiber content in the great-tasting form of apples, oranges, bananas, and other organic fruits.

Fiber is critical in the battle of how to lose back fat because it forces a very specific reaction within our digestive tract that not only blocks the formation of new fat cells within our bodies abut also leads to existing fat deposits being eliminated as that fat is transformed into energy used to break down fiber.

Try having an apple or orange or other favorite fruit between breakfast and lunch and also between lunch and dinner.

2. Add probiotic yogurt to your meal plans - Yogurt with probiotic active cultures in it (good bacteria) can now be found at almost every major market or grocery store, and it's something that Asian women have been using to teach their daughters how to lose back fat for generations.

Probiotics allow bad bacteria to be eliminated all through our stomach and intestinal tract, which are a leading cause of not only bloating and stomach aches, but also toxins that keep us from losing weight by blocking fat deposits from being burned up during exercises.

Have a probiotic-rich yogurt for breakfast and you'll immediately answer the question of how to lose back fat with one of the most powerful solutions available.

3. What if you just CAN'T lose back fat - I know it can be depressing, but if you're upset because nothing has worked you need to learn one of the most powerful secret free methods that Asian women do to force fat off of their back and waist in less than a month...WITHOUT starving or doing crazy workouts.

They are commonly seen on thighs, breasts, abdomen area, upper arms, hips, etc. These marks are caused due to sudden loss and gain of weight, pregnancy, obesity, swelling, tumor, side effects of the steroids, etc. When the epidermis (that is the top layer of the skin) is expanded beyond its elasticity, these white or silver lines occur on the skin. There are several home remedies that are effective in curing & preventing these marks. One of them is castor oil.

Castor Oil & Stretch Marks

· You can also do it for 45 minutes at a stretch.

· Continue the drill once a day, for at least 7 days.

· You shall surely get visible results within 7 to 10 days.

Along with this, you must also use some natural stretch mark creams. Some of the most effective natural ingredients for curing & preventing the stretch marks are aloe vera, emblica fruit extract , shea better, licorice extract etc. Captiva is the only ointment that contains all these ingredients. This cream not only diminish stretch marks but it also reduces the appearance of hyper pigmentation, freckles and age spots with ease.

Can Losing Weight Help Psoriasis

Saran Wrap Weight Loss Can Losing Weight Help Psoriasis.

Losing weight can help your psoriasis, and we're here to explain how and back it up with evidence. If you have psoriasis and a weight problem, a high BMI or love handles that you despise, then this should be all the motivation you need to get a gym membership and cut down on the calories! This article will explain how being fat can exacerbate psoriasis symptoms, and how weight loss can improve them, so read on, and remember - no snack breaks allowed!

Flab, Fat Rolls, Love Handles and Psoriasis

Warning: This section might be disturbing. Essentially, losing weight helps psoriasis because it eliminates the extra sweating, chafing and rubbing from flab rolls. Thin people have bodily areas where their skin folds and rubs against itself too, but this is a bigger concern for larger people.

The reason why this aggravates psoriasis is twofold (no pun intended!) Firstly, the rubbing is not good for sore skin, and secondly, the deepened skin folds can create "natural occlusion", which is problematic. If you haven't heard of it, it is the same thing as using Saran Wrap, Clingfilm or bandages to cover up cream on psoriatic patches and keep it from evaporating, being wiped off or washed off. This increases the effectiveness of medication by many folds - but it also increases side effects! For example, if overweight people use highly-potent steroid creams on their psoriasis, it can cause more skin-thinning than on smaller people. Hence, losing weight helps psoriasis because it melts away the fat rolls which worsen it.

Apart from that, larger people also sweat more. This is bad for psoriasis because it can irritate the skin, particularly in moist areas such as in the armpits and the groin area, and also rinse away topical creams, making its treatment difficult.

Overweight Problems Are More Than Skin Deep

Being overweight is also bad for psoriasis because of what is going on inside the fat. Researchers think that the constant, low-level inflammation in fat cells is similar to the inflammation found in the autoimmune disorder that is psoriasis. For example, researchers have observed elevated levels of TH-1 cytokines in obese patients, which are part and parcel of chronic inflammation. Losing weight can help psoriasis because every pound lost reduces the levels of internal inflammation. In fact, researchers know that weigh loss can decrease amounts of C-reactive proteins, which are produced in response to inflammation.

If you are still unconvinced, here is the evidence stating that gaining weight / being obese is bad for psoriasis! In 2011, the Geisinger Medical Center reported how they observed a dramatic improvement in the psoriasis of two patients who underwent gastric bypass surgery to lose weight. One of the women had a serious case of plaque psoriasis covering 75% of her body, and the other patient had it spread around 50%. After the surgery, their weight plummeted, and the results were like a psoriasis miracle. The first one had a pre-surgery BMI of 52 kg/m2 that dropped to 34 kg/m2. Guess how much of her body the psoriasis covered a few months later - only 9%!

In terms of other studies, the 2005 research in Archives of Dermatology revealed how obese individuals were twice as likely to develop psoriasis compared to people with a healthy weight. Furthermore, a 2006 study in Medical Hypotheses showed that excess weight also reduced the likelihood of a long-term recovery from psoriasis.

Does losing weight help psoriasis? You can bet your bum on it! Hopefully such research will motivate anyone reading this to try and lead a healthier lifestyle - in return you'll be slimmer, get fitter and improve your psoriasis. Now, we're not advocating gastric bypass surgery here, just more diet awareness and exercise!

Breakthrough Cellulite Information Combining Velashape With the Ultimate Body Wrap Applicator

Saran Wrap Weight Loss Breakthrough Cellulite Information Combining Velashape With the Ultimate Body Wrap Applicator.

Cellulite is totally misunderstood from factual information to actually smoothing the dimples. Some think that only exercise and diet will cure cellulite, but as many skinny "exercise toting" workout maniacs will tell you, almost nothing works for cellulite ("almost"). Beauty magazines and workout guides still talk about trapped fat modules, toxins, lack of exercise, and a bad diet as the precursor to cellulite. Current treatments produce some visual improvement, and the newer FDA approved VelashapeTM has a huge affect on the cellulite, but is even more effective when combined with a body wrap.

What Causes Cellulite? Cellulite results from a hormonal disease driven by estrogen and the destruction of collagen. It is a very complex disease that includes hormones, the menstrual cycle, and enzymes. The fatty tissue in men and women is exactly the same, except the woman has a receptor that signals the body to reserve the fat for a potential baby. This monthly buildup of the enzymes and then the menstrual cycle accounts for cellulite in women. Studies are ongoing in Asian women to discover why they do not have cellulite. It is no wonder that women experience the highs and lows of the month, as the body undergoes some 400 "periods" in a lifetime. This up and down of hormones including estrogen, progesterone and the stimulation of the enzymes is very critical to the connective tissue which holds the collagen and fatty tissue. One thing to remember, toxins do not cause cellulite nor does a bad diet or lack of exercise. Cellulite results from a hormonal roller coaster and is really a disease.

Can Cellulite be Cured? There is no single miracle cure for cellulite, but there are treatments that produce results for smoothing, toning, and firming the skin. Laser therapy, high frequency energy, and micro-current can all have an effect on treating cellulite long term. VelashapeTM, one of the newest FDA approved treatments for cellulite has produced fabulous results as it delivers heat into the fatty tissues. At the completion of a VelashapeTM treatment, often a wrap is added to make the treatment have even better results. One of the wraps recommended by the VelashapeTM treatment provider is the It Works Ultimate Body Applicator. When applied after the treatment, the wrap continues the treatment and results in possibly more inch loss and smoother skin. Applying the It Works Body Wrap after a VelashapeTM treatment includes applying the wrap, covering with saran wrap, and drinking one-half your body weight in water. The water is extremely important for moving the fatty tissue out of the body and eliminating the toxins. The wrap alone is an excellent wrap for toning, tightening and firming the skin, but when it is combined with the powerful energy of the fat busting technology, the results are very successful.

The Wrap Cellulite Recommendation If you choose the VelashapeTM route be sure to take along a wrap and a large, large bottle of water. When your choice of wraps is in question, choose the one that clearly will give you the best results with your treatment. If your budget does not include VelashapeTM, just check out the body wraps. You see, they work!

Are Body Wraps a Scam

Saran Wrap Weight Loss Are Body Wraps a Scam.

What is a Body Wrap?

In the golden days, they were simply an ace bandage or saran wrap tightly wrapped around your body. However, with increases in science and technology, they are much more than just something to make you feel a bit slimmer.

Today, a body wrap is likely to be a treatment where you are lathered up in a rich mineral body mask of seaweed and other various botanical ingredients. And, depending on the treatment, could last anywhere from 15 minutes to 4 hours.

They are performed at many salons and day spas, and are becoming increasingly popular as a private, in-home treatment.

Are All Treatments the Same?

No!

There are essentially two different kinds of wrap being sold by salons and retailers. Both types of treatment will cause drastic improvements in the healing, conditioning, and moisturizing of the skin. However, there is a radical difference between the two!

A 'Big Night' Treatment

This first type of treatment is particularly beneficial for a special occasion or a large event. It enables you to lose inches drastically through water loss. These can be particularly useful on an evening or weekend when you want to be looking your slimmest and fittest. However, the inch loss from this type of body wrap is strictly temporary, much like that which you would obtain in a prolonged session in a sauna.

A 'Permanent' Treatment

This other type of body wrap is known for its capabilities to aide in weight loss. This type of treatment creates inch loss by allowing the lymphatic system to successfully remove stored toxins. These toxins enter your system through the environment, poor dieting, and pollutants!

The permanent treatment also stimulates lymphatic drainage, which in turn, releases toxins and fatty acids from your cells. These toxins are then eliminated along with the system's natural waste process.

A tell-tale sign of this type of wrap is a necessary step in the instructions to 'drink water'. Your system needs this water to aide in the release of toxins, and without it, your body won't be able to perform this process properly.

The results from this type of treatment can vary depending on an individual's toxicity level; however, the inch loss obtained is often permanent.

So, are Body Wraps a Scam?!

The answer is absolutely not.

Experts agree that body wraps are great aides in losing stubborn weight, feeling good, and living healthy.

Body wraps can serve a variety of purposes, depending on a person's needs. If you have loose skin, a big event coming up, or are looking to lose those unwanted inches, there is a different treatment for you.
